Risk Disclosure
Last updated: —
1. General risk of futures and options trading
Trading in futures and options on futures is speculative, carries a high level of risk, and may not be suitable for all investors. You should carefully consider whether such trading is appropriate for you in light of your financial condition, experience, and objectives. The high degree of leverage inherent in futures trading can work against you as well as for you, and can result in large losses as well as large gains.
Before trading, you should carefully review the risk disclosure documents provided by your broker and the National Futures Association ("NFA"). You may lose all, or more than, your initial deposit. Past performance of any trading system or methodology is not necessarily indicative of future results.
2. CFTC Rule 4.41 — hypothetical and simulated performance
Any performance results published on this site that are generated by backtesting, simulation, or paper-trading — including the output of the VWAP Reversion backtester — are hypothetical. The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission ("CFTC") requires the following notice:
In plain English: numbers on a backtest did not come from real money. They do not account for slippage, partial fills, exchange outages, or the psychological cost of holding through drawdown in a live account. Your live results will differ — sometimes materially.
3. Live performance
Where this site displays live trading results (for example, the daily P&L log on the home page), those results are drawn from a single account using a specific configuration of the system. Your results will vary based on the configuration you choose, your broker and platform, your commissions, your fill quality, the contracts you trade, your position sizing, and when you enter and exit trades relative to the posted signals.
Past performance is not necessarily indicative of future results. A system that has been profitable in prior periods may produce losses in future periods, and no specific level of profit or protection from loss is guaranteed.
4. Automated trading ("Autotrader") risks
The Indicator + Autotrader tier wires TradingView alerts through PickMyTrade (or an equivalent middleware) into a Tradovate brokerage account for automatic execution. Automated trading introduces additional risks beyond manual trading, including but not limited to:
- Webhook and middleware failures. If any link in the chain (TradingView alert, webhook, PickMyTrade, broker API, internet connection) fails, signals may not be executed or may be executed late. You are responsible for monitoring your automation and intervening when it fails.
- Unattended positions. Automated trading does not mean risk-free trading. Positions opened by the system remain your responsibility. You should monitor open positions, broker health, and account risk throughout the trading day.
- Exchange halts and outages. During halted or illiquid markets, stop orders may not fill at the intended price. Automated systems have no judgment about such conditions.
- Configuration errors. A typo in a contract size, stop distance, or target can produce losses that far exceed the strategy's normal risk profile. Verify every setting before enabling live trading.
- Rapid, compounding losses. An automated system can open and close trades faster than a human can react. A configuration error or bad signal sequence can produce losses that would be impossible with manual trading.
We strongly recommend that you run the Autotrader on a simulated (SIM) account for a minimum of two weeks before enabling it on a live account, and that you set daily loss limits at the broker level in addition to any limits configured inside the strategy.
5. No personalized advice, no fiduciary relationship
VWAP Reversion publishes a general trading methodology, software tools, and educational content. Nothing on this site is personalized investment advice. We do not know your financial situation, objectives, risk tolerance, or tax position, and we make no representation that any of our signals, indicators, or automated systems are suitable for you.
We are not a registered broker-dealer, investment advisor, Commodity Trading Advisor ("CTA"), or Commodity Pool Operator ("CPO"), and no fiduciary relationship is created by your subscription, your download of software, or your receipt of signals or commentary from us.
6. Third-party services
Delivery of signals, execution of trades, and access to market data rely on third-party services including TradingView, PickMyTrade, NinjaTrader, Tradovate, Discord, Stripe, and others. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or responsible for the performance or availability of any third-party service. Outages, pricing changes, policy changes, or discontinuation of any such service may affect your ability to receive or act on signals at any time.
7. No guarantees
We make no representation or warranty — express or implied — that use of this system, its signals, its software, or any related material will:
- Result in profits;
- Avoid losses, including total loss of account equity;
- Perform in live trading the same way it performs in backtests;
- Operate without interruption, error, or delay.
8. Your responsibility
By using this website and any related software, signal feed, or community, you acknowledge and agree that:
